Up here in the northern hemisphere, the days are incrementally growing longer. Biologically hardwired to respond to this annual rhythm, I feel myself beginning to anticipate “what comes next” with a subtle hum of happy energy.
The hum is a happy one because it’s grounded in an awareness of what our Supporters accomplished in 2019. Here’s some highlights:
1287 architects, designers, and building professionals were informed about the benefits of indoor nature, a 25% increase over 2018.
An 18% growth in the number of Registered Trainer presentations – biophilia road-warriors are taking the #BringNatureIndoors message directly to the offices of A+D professionals and providing them with 1 hour of continuing education credit.
Presented Seminars for Interiorscapers at TPIE’19 and Cultivate’19, which deepened industry understanding of biophilic design and stakeholder roles, and introduced us to Randy Fiser, ASID CEO, who presented a case study on the impact biophilic design has on staff productivity in their new headquarters.
Redesigned the FIND A PROVIDER directory with links to provider websites.
Added a GPGB Instagram channel – email us your project pictures and we’ll share them. You don’t need to be a Supporter to play in this sandbox.
Created the new Benefits of Biophilic Design infographic for sharing on your website, newsletters and social channels.
Recruited two respected, biophilic design thought-leaders to the GPGB board of directors, Sonja Bochart, IIDA and Richard Piacentini, WELL AP.
Everything we accomplish happens because people like you are stepping forward and supporting GPGB’s focus on having conversations with the building professionals who can #BringNatureIndoors.
Looking at these accomplishments I hope you feel that subtle vibration of happy energy too. Enjoy the seasonal rhythms, and if the spirit moves you, join your voice with ours – become a Supporter.
With gratitude,
Mary Golden
