Meet our host, Jan Goodman.
Owner/President at Cityscapes and current GPGB President

Jan has an impressive four decades of experience within the horticultural industry, showcasing her expertise as the visionary founder and CEO of Cityscapes Inc, a premier plantscape provider that transforms the built environment through the power of plants. Armed with a degree in landscape design and horticultural technology from the University of New Hampshire, Jan is not only a respected authority in her field but also a registered provider for the AIA/CES (American Institute of Architects Continuing Education System) and BOMI (Building Owners Managers Institute). She extends her knowledge through educational credits and programs aimed at architectural industry professionals and commercial property experts, emphasizing the myriad advantages of incorporating greenery and biophilia into architectural designs.

Jan is a sought-after speaker at national landscape conferences, including TPIE, BOMA, and Cultivate the American Hort Conference, where she shares her insights on biophilic design, living walls, interior and exterior landscaping, and holiday décor.

Cityscapes, under Jan’s exemplary leadership, was recently awarded the 2023 Small Business of the Year Award for Cultural Excellence from the Boston Chamber of Commerce.

Jan’s philanthropic endeavors extend far and wide across the Boston and South Shore area, where she supports various non-profits, including the Pine Street Inn, Friends of the Homeless, Brookview House, Breaktime, Friendship Home, and the Women’s Lunch Place. In 2020, she received a Community Service Award from Brookview House in recognition of a decade of tireless community service. In an effort to further give back to the community, Jan founded TransPLANTed, a charitable offshoot of Cityscapes. Transplanted is dedicated to raising funds for local nonprofits through the sale of plants from their mobile plant truck. With a passion for urban greenery and a commitment to giving back, TransPLANTed aims to make a positive impact on communities while cultivating a love for plants. This initiative led Janice to be recognized as one of People Magazine’s “Kindest People in America” in 2022.
