Green Plants for Green Buildings (GPGB) is proud to share that the Interior Industry Growth Fund (IIGF)—created in partnership with the National Horticulture Foundation (NHF)—continues to flourish, now exceeding $500,000 in principal in just two years.

This remarkable growth includes more than $150,000 in new contributions in 2024 alone, making the IIGF one of NHF’s fastest-growing and most impactful endowments. The Fund’s purpose remains steadfast: to invest exclusively in research, professional education, and marketing that strengthen the visibility, credibility, and economic vitality of the interior landscape industry.

Sustaining Our Industry’s Future

Through the IIGF, interior industry professionals now have a reliable, perpetual way to fund progress. The principal balance is never spent—only investment earnings are used to drive initiatives that directly benefit our community.

Additional IIGF impact includes:

• $10,000 in support for GPGB’s presence at the 2024 AIA Conference in Washington, D.C.—an event that reached thousands of architects and designers and led to a 533% increase in GPGB’s LinkedIn impressions.

• $15,000 in support for GPGB’s presence at the 2025 national conferences: AIA, BOMA, and SHRM. This presence allowed GPGB’s message to reach thousands of attendees and led to a 56% increase in email contacts, expanding awareness of biophilic designand the benefits of interior plants among architects, designers, and business leaders.

• Funding for university-led research and education, providing scholarships and studies that address innovation and emerging challenges in horticulture and interior environments.
