Supporter Spotlight: Jim Mumford

Jim Mumford began his career in 1977 with the opening of Good Earth Plant & Flower Company, a flower “bucket stand” in downtown San Diego. Today, Mumford is a thought leader in expanding the potential for bringing the living world of plants into our everyday lives to experience their positive aesthetic and environmental benefits. His company’s mission statement: “We enrich people’s lives with plants.”

Mumford is an award-winning workplace greenery expert, green roof and living wall designer, a sought-after speaker, and a recipient of multiple awards. He is a Certified Landscape Professional, Accredited Green Roof Professional, and licensed contractor.

Mumford’s award-winning client projects include green roofs for universities, hospitals, and private homes; living walls for shopping malls, hotels, biotech companies, and major office complexes; moss walls for the world’s largest tech companies, and edible walls for restaurants. Mumford is frequently featured on local and national news media.

Biophilic Gallery

Take a gander at this avant-garde botanical garden in Seattle, Washington. The Amazon Spheres are home to over 40,000 cloud-forest plants from over 30 countries. This building was created to encourage new ways of thinking. It is also a space where employees can collaborate and be linked to the outdoors.

The Jewel Changi Airport is an iconic biophilic design that is a wonderful entertainment and retail complex. It provides visitors with a luscious green indoor garden and contains the tallest indoor waterfall in the world. This airport allows all visitors and employees to have less anxiety and stress.
